Succulents are a group of plants that are thick, and fleshy and store water in their various parts, most commonly stems and leaves. The word 'succulent' comes from the Latin word sucus, meaning "juice" or "sap". These adaptations help succulents survive in arid regions or deserts, with very limited water supplies.
